In the beginning of 2025, we partnered with the Royal Academy Schools to run a series of writer development sessions for their students and our members.
We look forward to continuing these sessions in 2026.

"In life it feels like you're surrounded by the 'idea' of writing: self-help books about creativity, the morning routines of famous authors, other people's book launches and author photos on Instagram, the ideas for books and articles you write down but never actually write. Write Club is the place where writing stops being an idea and starts being real. I don't come with a vision of myself as a writer, I just come to write – the beauty is in not knowing what. The prompt is shared, and somehow an hour later, I've written something completely new. I surprise myself every time. The Write Club at the Royal Academy takes the same formula and somehow deepens the exploration of craft and creativity. Sitting in the life drawing room in that beautiful building makes you feel a part of some grand tradition – and there's always a little twist on the exercise that makes you approach your writing from a new direction."

"There’s many moments I never would have experienced without Write Club. Having the opportunity to write inside the Life Room at the RA was one of them. To be in a space that has been utilised for artistic engagement for centuries, but to introduce a new art form and community, felt so rewarding and inspiring. The pure exposure to an environment that sits at the very heart of creativity and cultivates it, made for a beautiful place to be surrounded by writers in. It’s something I’ll never forget."

"Surreal is probably the best word to describe the Write Club at the RA. I couldn’t help but think of all the artists and academics that had stepped foot in the lecture hall before us. It was incredibly inspiring.
I’ve been a regular at Write Club now for over three years and I’m constantly surprised at the calibre of writers within this incredible community. It’s become a much-needed safe haven and source of creative nourishment. One I’m truly grateful for".
