Sabrina is a writer and performer, raised in London and Cairo. Her 20+ theatre shows include A History of Water in the Middle East (Royal Court), the BBC Drama Award-winning With a Little Bit of Luck and the Fringe First Award-winning Chef.
She writes and produces TV, most recently as co-Lead Writer and EP on BBC Studios forthcoming series, Anisha, Accidental Detective and on Season Two of Beef (A24/Netflix). Before that, she worked on Stephen Soderbergh and Ed Soloman’s limited series Full Circle (HBO) and on both seasons of Ramy Youssef and Pam Brady’s #1 Happy Family USA (A24/Amazon).
Her books include These Bodies of Water: Notes on the British Empire, the Middle East and Where We Meet (Tinder Press) and the poetry collection How You Might Know Me (Out Spoken Press). She’s edited a number of anthologies, including The Things I Would Tell You: British Muslim Women Write (Saqi) and Smashing It: Working Class Artists on Life, Art and Making It Happen (Saqi).
Sabrina is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has a King’s Award for Arts & Culture and a Sky Arts Award for poetry & performance.
